What did your last job actually make?
Contract price minus direct cost is not your margin, it is just the number before overhead. Enter your numbers below and see both. Nothing is saved, nothing is sent anywhere.
Everything spent directly on this job, not company-wide overhead.
Rent, office staff, insurance, admin - company-wide, per month.
How many active jobs share that overhead.
Enter a number in every field - contract price and duration have to be more than zero, and concurrent jobs at least 1.
This is the same math behind our job costing work, just done once instead of on every job, every month.
Book a CallHow this is calculated
"What you think you made" is contract price minus direct job cost - the number most bids get judged against. "What you actually made" subtracts a share of your real company overhead for the months that job ran, split evenly across however many jobs you had running at the same time.
It is a simplified allocation, not a full WIP schedule - your actual overhead rate may vary by job type, season, or how overhead is structured. It is enough to show whether the gap between those two numbers is worth a closer look.
